In 1958, Christiansen's son invented the small plastic bricks which could click together. Since then the different types of LEGO building materials have expanded to include larger sized bricks called DUPLO for smaller children to build with. Recent additions to the range include Star Wars LEGO, and the BIONICLE range of action figures.

There are even LEGOLAND theme parks in Denmark, Britain, the USA and Germany where families can enjoy rides, build with life-size LEGO bricks or walk through miniature LEGO cities.

From the simple idea of a small plastic brick, LEGO has grown into one of the world’s most popular toys being named "Toy of the Century" in the year 2000.

A Moment of Pride

A moment of PRIDE 

CRUNCH, CRUNCH. Thank you for breakfast mum and dad. Can we go to skate zone please. Mum and dad said if you brush your teeth and wash your face mum said. So I went and brushed my teeth and washed my face. Then dad said get ready to go to skate zone. So I got ready to go to. I asked if my friend Karsyn could come with us, dad said to me sure why not. So I called him and asked him if wanted to come with us. He said ok so we picked him up. Vroom off we went to skate zone. About 15mins went past and we were there, finally I said. We went in and paid to get in, off we went scootering and skating. Mum said to us kids your father and I are going for a walk and dad said try and do something different so when we get back I can video you’s. Off mum and dad went going for a walk. So I sat down and thought about what I was going to do. Then I asked Karsyn if I could have a turn on his skate board. So I skated on my bum around skate zone then Karsyn said ride it on your feet. So I tried skating on my feet and I kept failing so he taught me how to go down a little ramp, after a lot of fails later then he told me to go down a little half pipe then mum and dad got back so dad got me on video. After about 10 minutes later we left and dad said to us, you’s always learn something different every time we come here.
